Farm Walk
|
Clarks Hill Farm, home of the Working Dales Pony, is a traditional Cumberland Farm of 84 acres, set in beautiful countryside, yet only 10 minutes drive from the World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall. Clarks Hill Farm is in the countryside Stewardship Scheme, following a regular programme of walling, fencing, tree planting and hedge restoration. No fertiliser or pesticides are used. Weeds are controlled by the grazing of the goats and soay sheep. Group guided walks around the farm are a popular attraction and offer the opportunity to see a variety of rare breeds, including cattle, goats, pigs, sheep and poultry. The farm walk, which takes between 1 and 2 hours, also takes in fabulous views of the local countryside and looks down across the traditional farm courtyard and The Ostler's self catering cottage. Only available by prior arrangement – (group visits only, minimum group of 12 paying adults) |
