Charlie, Gina and Roger moved to Clarks Hill in 2001. Duchess (pictured) is a willing participant in the displays of snigging and work in chains. Demonstrations are given at shows, fetes, craft fairs and schools. Private group visits to the farm can be arranged and the Victoria carriage can be hired to make weddings and other special occasions that little bit more memorable.

Visitors can also watch horses being cared for at the stables in the traditional court yard where the ponies are harnessed ready for work, taking a step back in time.

The close proximity of Hadrian's Wall and The Lake District adds to the potential for an enjoyable day, weekend - or longer visit - to one of the most beautiful, unspoilt regions of England.
